Qu\u00e9bec is one of the most Europhile regions in North America and the world, and yet no formal European representation is present there. The European dimension is, however, easily perceptible in Montr\u00e9al and more broadly within the province of Qu\u00e9bec, both in terms of relations between the countries making up the European Union and concerning exchanges between the cultural communities of the Old Continent established here.<\/p>\n
The House of Europe in Montr\u00e9al<\/i> has therefore adopted the mission of bringing together around a common platform local and international organizations and actors sharing an interest in improving EU-Qu\u00e9bec, and more broadly EU-Canada, relations. Keeping in mind the specific interests of each, this platform addresses economic, cultural, academic and social dimensions.<\/p>\n
By helping to promote a better understanding of the functioning of the European Union, its parliamentary democracy and the cultures that compose it, the House of Europe in Montr\u00e9al<\/em> wants to allow citizens to make informed choices regarding the future of the EU and to participate fully in the European democratic process, while residing in Qu\u00e9bec.<\/p>\n In addition to this long-term objective, the House of Europe in Montr\u00e9al<\/i> maintains its mission of celebrating the Europeanness of Montr\u00e9al, both through its history and its culture and the communities that compose and enrich it.
